Why Congressional Democrats Cave
Fundamentally, they believe in a Constitutional showdown with Bush, they’d lose.
Bush would rather have leave American soldiers without battle armor or food than bring them home. And Democrats know that Bush would be willing to allow large numbers of Americans to suffer rather than lose a political battle, just so he could get his way and blame the Democrats for the suffering. This is why, in the political game of chicken, Democrats roll over time and time again. They’re just not callous enough to allow innocent Americans to be harmed. And our political system, that allows nothing to be accomplished unless Congress and the President agree, unfortunately rewards whomever cares less about Americans……

Smart as the dirt on your eye December 21, 2007 10:29 am
Guys who think they are really smart–have been laying it down for us–for a while
Time for people of peace–to lay it down to the dark forces that be–that humanity is better than war and that the presence of misconstrued politics will no longer be tolerated
Immunity to Evil
Immunity to the infection
is a state of mind
empty of negativity,
A viewpoint centered in truth
refusing to be injurious
to anyone,
goodness that can render wickedness useless
and revitalize,
everyone,
By not entertaining
the presence of malevolence,
not entering a low-vibratory level
of thinking,
threatening the ultimate survival
of all humanity,
By rising within,
above the battlefield,
to a psychic place of kindness
untouched by hatred’s noxious toxins,
An inner sanctum
surrounded by a semi-permeable synaptic shield
allowing only high-frequency energy
to enter,
Just thoughts of love
can penetrate
through the mental process
responding with catharsis
to abusive raging evil,
That must eventually succumb,
starved of lethal emotional fuel
needed to feed its terminal disease,
being simultaneously irradiated
by the shining healing feeling light of the Tao.

Mark should be a fiction writer he tells such interesting and gripping tales. Just to pull this discussion back down to reality – only the congress has the power of war in the USA.
I remind you Mark that you claim to be an expert on the US constitution. I remind you of Article I Section 8.
Why is it that Democrats will not implement the will of the people that elected them on Iraq?
Because they want to be in Iraq and have no plan to ever leave. Iraq is the Democrats war until they end it.
Hillary has said:
“We must stay the course” in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and asked for more troops to finish the job, “We have to exert all of our efforts militarily”
Here from Edwards:
MATTHEWS: If you think the decision, which was made by the president, when basically he saw the French weren’t with us and the Germans and the Russians weren’t with us, was he right to say, “We’re going anyway”?
EDWARDS: I stand behind my support of that, yes.
MATTHEWS: You believe in that?
EDWARDS: Yes.
And from Nancy:
“I applaud the President on focusing on this issue and on taking the lead to disarm Saddam Hussein. … Others have talked about this threat that is posed by Saddam Hussein. Yes, he has chemical weapons, he has biological weapons, he is trying to get nuclear weapons.”
