I hate to tell you, but Abu Graib was not SOP for MP, SFs or SP. though what happened was not torture by any means of the word. it was in Direct Violation of the UCMJ. Each and every Guard, had the duty and the right to disobey any unlawful orders. and any order dictating the treatments in those pictures were unlawfull by the UCMJ.
I might agree with the attempt to save lives by gathering Intel, but I would never have followed any orders along those lines when I was in uniform.
Those men and women shamed and dishonored the uniform and deserve nothing but an article 15, a general Court Martial and as many years cracking rocks in Leavenworth as can be given.
