This article in the Washington Post suggests Gates is as big a “yes-man” as Don Rumsfeld.

So in with Gates and out with Rumsfeld. He was a corrupt, dishonest, conspirator who made a living lying and concealing information from the American people. Come to think about it Rumsfeld was not too hot either.

I wasn’t able to catch the Gates confirmation hearing. I did see a clip when Gates was asked if he thought we were winning in Iraq. In which Gates responded, “No”. Honesty is a good start.
Fact is, with a Democratic majority House of Reps & Senate. Well I would think Gates will not want to spend much time under the oath and questioned much. That will be the difference for now.
