Tax Away Those Bonuses!
March 24, 2009
Republican Strategist Mike Lane and I go at it over AIG.
I support the 90% tax on bonuses of executives who are getting millions of dollars while their companies are on taxpayer life support.
Mike does not support the tax.

We need a new law. Listen to my show today (3/25) as I discuss why. Call in if you have any comments/ questions.

The retroactive tax is bad law and should be struck down. We don’t NEED a new law. Since AIG is under investigation by multiple agencies for fraud among other things why not use RICO? What’s wrong with a nice racketeering indictment?

But only 40% of the bonus paid out went to american citizens that are subject to the tax(if legal).
American tax payers are reportedly paying bonus out to foreign executives of the AIG company.
It is not only AIG. It is a culture of no rules for Wal Street and enforced laws on main street.
What I would like to hear from you two are debates on exactly what regulations would you put in place to make this not so easy to recur?
