Mark believes the word “genocide” is overused and that the overuse of the word by people of every political stripe from neocons, Bush-apologists, and anti-abortionists to Leftists, Bush-haters, and Palestinians is not only wrong: it actually serves the cause of the genocidiares: those who commit the most awful human crime possible.
For all the President’s talk about “freedom” and “liberty” and “democracy.” Bush won’t lift a finger to stop the genocide going on in Sudan, will he?

When I was 5 a Priest scared the heck out of me by telling me, with great authority, that I was going to hell because I was not Catholic.
Every Wednesday for 6 years in grammar school we non-Catholics walked down one side of a street for religious release time and the catholic kids on the other. A Nun pranced in front of that group while they shouted every thing they could think of at us and she, for 6 years, never said a word to them.
A good friend of mine who was getting married in a Catholic church was told in a loud voice by a Priest that he was a cheap bum because his envelope did not have enough money. He was also told that he was getting a class 2 wedding (the term escapes me) because he had heathens in the ceremony (that was me).
While making public works loud speaker announcements on the streets of San Jose, I stopped at the local Catholic Church to make sure I was not going to disturb anyone. The Priest at the desk refused to acknowledge my comments repeated multiple times. I learned the next day at the corporation yard that it was because I did not refer to him as Father. He could not accept a kindness without being addressed as if I was Catholic myself and was putting on a show for the student present.
I could relate any number of additional stories but suffice to say the Priests sexually abusing children is the tip of an iceberg. This organization is evil to the core. They hate everything non Catholic in the world and present Christianity to the world as an evil force.

Is it kosher for a good Roman Catholic like yourself to claim the FORMER ‘Chief Rabbi of Rome’ as a JEWISH authority on the holocaust?
You claim, ‘Israel Zolli, The Chief Rabbi of Rome, was so impressed by Pius XII’s actions that following the war he not only became a Roman Catholic, but took Eugenio, Pope Pius XII’s Christian name, as his own Christian name upon baptism. Now, are you going to believe a Jew who was there and saw what the Vatican and Pope Pius XII did?’
Since you profess to be well-read and well-informed on this subject, you DO KNOW that although Israel Zolli HAD BEEN Chief Rabbi of Rome at the time that most of his flock was herded up and ship off to the concentration camps, that he and his family were among the few Jews who were hidden away by Pius XII in the Vatican.
At the time that Zolli praised Pius, far from being Chief Rabbi of Rome or even a Jew in good standing, he had been disowned by the Jewish community for saving his own skin and for embracing the pope who could have saved many MORE Jews.
Mike, either
a) you are well-informed and you are DISHONEST in putting forward this MISINFORMATION, or
b) you are MISINFORMED, are should read something other than Roman Catholic propaganda for a change.
You can charge Mark Levine of being anti-Christian because he is Jewish and you can try to discredit him because he has another reason for being hated by Hitler and the Catholic Church, he is homosexual, but I am a Christian clergyman, happily married for 35 years, a father of 10 children and from what I have read here, I would say that Mark Levine is absolutely right on even point he has made about the Catholic Church’s responsibility for the holocaust.
