Despite some human flaws, she was Pakistan’s best hope for democracy and the world’s best hope for peace.
Her assassination illustrates the dangerous idiocy of the Bush/Cheney decision to virtually abandon the fight against the Taliban in Afghanistan and Pakistan in order to pursue the “sweet oil” of Iraq.

For quite sometime, Pakistan has been more dangerous to America’s interests. Before Iraq.
Afgahnistan was a direct response of 9/11 but our foriegn policy allowed for the Taliban in Afgahnistan up until 9/11.
Just as North Korea was let to flounder. India is not quite a picnic and are nervous I’m sure of Pakistans unstablness while possesing Nukes that were born out of countering India’s nuke program.
Alot more world floundering fish are going to surface from the last 8 years of (achem) foriegn policy.
Here’s hoping America will elect its next President with a foriegn policy that actually causes positive direction changes in these some of these ill fated countries. That has the fortitude to not use force and commit America as a pre empting first choice. Rather, having the presence to use American force when absolutely necessary as a last resort.
