Actually Edwina–those thoughts were posted before your presence (in this form) on this blog–you see how we have common ground
Now just work on your fear issues and your hate will dissolve
    There is hope–stress that thought

    Octavius [Gordon] Smith:
“Edwina you are so right–we don’t have a government of the mandate of the people–election fraud may be part of it–certainly a distorted press doesn’t help–and being ruled by the lesser Caesars can be blamed ultimately on the apathy of the people–while the barbarians we have pissed off are knocking on Rome’s door.”
I will now present you with an A+. Apparently you have been reading and listening to what I have stated. Pity that Levine has to go to summer school. He gets an F.
Summer’s here, class is out, enjoy the summer!

Edwina you are so right–we don’t have a government of the mandate of the people–election fraud may be part of it–certainly a distorted press doesn’t help–and being ruled by the lesser Caesars can be blamed ultimately on the apathy of the people–while the barbarians we have pissed off are knocking on Rome’s door
    The Fall of Rome
The government knew they had us,
when they could keep the herb illegal,
although we knew it was medicine.
The government knew they had us,
when they could sell us the Super Bowl as something more than a football game,
although we knew it was just a football game.
The government knew they had us,
when they sold us the war, wrapped in a red, white, and blue bow.
although we knew the Domino Theory was bullshit.
The government knew they had us,
when the Warren Commission sold us Lee Harvey Oswald, instead of the coup d’etat,
    although they insulted our intelligence.
The government knew they had us,
when they could hide their military budget and use it for, whatever,
    and ask for more, whenever.
The government knew they had us,
when they could send their cowboys out to tame the world and just create more terror.
And so we come to our dilemma,
to watch TV as the world burns,
to eat TV dinners and get fat on fast food and watch our children get fat,
and watch our children come back in body bags from all parts of the world,
and also die in our streets.
Oh, Government of the Eagle, once proud carrier of the torch,
    where have your powers gone?
Your power was with the people,
    and your power went away,
when the people knew you had them.

    Publius:
“How soon we all forgot… How sad… The voter fraud story came and went and died from lack of air from the major networks (now controlled by the right wing).”
As I read of Goebbals here tonight, let’s just state that this lie of right-wing control of the media, repeated enough times, will still not make it true.
Have you heard any of these “right-wing” media groups call out to Bush, as Sam Donaldson did most days to Reagan with “Mr. President…” the question “Mr. President, the Constitution provides that the government protect the states. How are you upholding your oath of office when you allow 8,000 illegals to cross the border each night?”
What you don’t understand is that just as two lawyers argue in court, they have dinner at night. These elected lawyers don’t change because of being elected. Our government is our own United Nations – becoming less and less responsible to its mandate. There is no real difference between parties. The government is left-wing [just look at spending if you think that’s crazy] and as Pat Bushannan stated recently, the conservative movement is dead. And it’s dead because the press won’t allow the public to know the real issues that they would have 100 years ago. It looks like the Marxists are winning.
Daily, the major media, owned by a few rather than many, pounds away at anything considered conservative, whether it be family, marriage, Christianity, troops, etc. Yet you claim it’s controlled by the right. It doesn’t wash even under loose guidelines. No one is taking this government seriously anymore. And that is how powerful right-wing people come to power. They are decidedly not in power now.

How soon we all forgot… How sad… The voter fraud story came and went and died from lack of air from the major networks (now controlled by the right wing). And the “Karl Rove Spin” that this was just the weird tale of a “crackpot, a funny nuisance….”. Perhaps it all relates to the odd sort of geeky guy this programmer was (heck most programmers are geeks) – Clint Curtis lacks “television personna” so he is therefore “not credible”. His pal Lemme died in a bathtub, just when the story was to break. How’d you like to come forward after that? Let’s see. This is almost June 2005. The last post here was December 15, 2004, when all the rest of you went away… fat and happy with your Christmas presents…. And the story died…. Just one last thought… It’s now June… Is Clint Curtis still alive?
