Corporate Thieves and Corrupt Justice in the Coast Guard and Merchant Marine
September 18, 2007
Guest: Lieutenant Eric Shine is being punished for trying to stop private companies from stealing taxpayer dollars in the merchant marine. With our Government contracting out “justice” to the very corporate thieves ripping off taxpayers, Shine has a tough road ahead.
The Baltimore Sun recently reported on the inappropriate pressure the Coast Guard puts on its courts to rule in its favor in Justice Capsized?: “Judge Jeffie J. Massey, who retired this year, said in a sworn statement that she was told by Chief Judge Joseph N. Ingolia to always rule in the Coast Guard’s favor and came under intense pressure when she did not.”
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.

Our troops are coming back from Iraq–not underfed–because there are fast-food outlets at the major base camps–(who said the U.S. isn’t ready for the imperialistic long haul in the Middle East)–oh the emotional cure of a Whopper–that can make a G.I. into a BurgerKing

Mr. Shine,
I’ve been following your story over the Internet for quite awhile now. From my understanding, you alerted the US Coast Guard to a potentially dangerous situation in the engine room of the ship you were serving as an engineering officer and the inspecting Coast Guard officer dismissed your allegations. Then, all of a sudden, he declared that you were unfit for duty and then he attempted to strip you of your engineering license. Is this correct? I’m unsure how the lawsuits and mental health issues started. Can you elaborate? A simple reply would be sufficient. Thank you sir.

Unfortunately, as sometimes happens, this show failed to archive at White Rose. Lieutenant Shine, however, is hoping that someone made a copy of it by recording the streaming on the computer. If you have done that, he and I would greatly appreciate your letting me know by sending me an email to [email protected]

When will our people wake up to the fact that privitization of our public services will destroy all that America has stood for since the founders started this great experiment!
Privitization is and can only be attributed to the bottom line the almighty dollar. All of the commons that we the taxpayer has paid for being turned over to privitization comes down to private enterprise making money at we the peoples expense. Hell if they can’t make a buck at it they wouldn’t do it and from what I have observed by privitization they do a lousy job at everything they touch! ie: road building, prisons, hospitals, add your own to the list! Are they better today or just more expensive!!!

Wow, this will be a hard one to do any “discovery” on! This is not only dealing with the reach of the Coast Guard via their investigators (officers) and the Coast Guard judges and the over site of mariners. Then you have the “Administrative Law Judges” (ALJ’s) ,who seem to been only advocates for the Coast Guard, and their judicial powers and how far they reach.
I just got through reading the article and part of Eric’s “depo” via his site. Mark, all I can say is someone needs to give this attention. Everything I read in the article seem to follow in the same with Eric’s “depo”.
I need to read somemore, but I will let you all know what I find.
WOW, this just can’t be right!
