Mr. Imus has a multi-million dollar contract he should get a chunk of–after litigation–don’t feel sorry for Don Imus–feel sorry for Don Imus’ hair

And we do shut it off. But the corporate media sells it to sponsers and public discourse is all that is left altogether. With that mentality our air waves will never serve the public.
Don’t you think we should be served on our air wave and they can still find time to spew discourse?

We can shut it off if we don’t like it, right?
(Or not even tune in) That’s what they tell those of us who complain about all the garbage shown on TV.
And by the way, please don’t get the idea that I condone the way he talks – I don’t. But I don’t condone the way Rosie O talks either. There’s quite a long list of offensive personalities when you start making a list.

Vicky,
I cannot speak for his corporate master(s).
Yet I can tell you that YES, if it was up to me he would be terminated.
I probably would not have hired him to begin with. He has been speaking like this for some time. His conservative leaning is what insulated him from his short comings.
Imus can go to cable and/or satilite Radio like his buddy Howard Stern. His free speech is not infringed. But my free speech is infringed every time these guys get on the air and intentionally verbally assault, infect, encourage hate and incite. For what, Ratings? What is the public service in that.? You do realize that “We the People ” own those air waves that these corporates broadcast and operate on? So we have the right to have the FCC regulate and sort of govern such use of OUR air waves.
When Rush went off on Micheal J Fox, and has a past of lying outright for specific gains of certain groups. He would have been gone. But, he has been verbally ugly for quite some time as well.
There are certainly many many talented people that would love to get the opportunity to be on the air. And those same folks would like to make a difference for the betterment and not appealling to the bigoted and nurturing that for public discourse. We get fed what some ogre with plenty of capital decides what he wants us to hear. Nothing about the public. Nothing about public service. And absolutely no loval responsibility for the cummunities of the braodcast range.
Sorry, Yes is the answer………..
