I Miss Eliot Spitzer

No wonder they took down the “Sheriff of Wall Street.”
He understood their abuses and was standing in the way of their greed.
By monitoring Spitzer’s private financial transactions, someone on Wall Street “took him down.”
And in the scheme of things, Spitzer’s purchase of a prostitute with his private funds is far less egregrious than the greed of those on Wall Street who took the world economy down with other people’s money.

In my opinion, no one can get elected to an office in this country without some sort of skeleton in their closet. Monetary ones don’t seem to be as big a deal as sexual ones. McCain can be part of the Keating 5 and it gets swept under the rug as long as he plays ball. If he were to transform himself into a true maverick, we would suddenly discover all sorts of “hobbies” of his.

A tin-foiled hat usually doesn’t suit me. However, I cannot help but find Spitzer’s surveillance almost too coincidental.
By the way, what happened to the investigation that “caught” him so conveniently in its dragnet?
I wonder whether a gag order was part of negotiating his case. I would like to hear his educated opinion regarding Wall Street/Banking Industry/Deceptive Mortgage Lending practices.
