SPIES AT THE FBI?
June 14, 2004
(archived broadcast )
Former FBI translator Sibel Edmonds is under a gag order not to discuss her knowledge of the detailed information Bush had prior to 9/11 that Al Quaeda planned to ram airplanes into U.S. targets.
Even scarier, Attorney General John Ashcroft has put Members of Congress under a gag to prevent them from discussing Sibel Edmonds’ credible charges that there are people working in our translation department in the FBI that tried to recruit her into anti-American organizations.
But that has not stopped Sibel Edmonds from coming on today’s INSIDE SCOOP

Skip,
Most of my reply was aimed at the fact we really dont know what happens in the govt…
And top secret clearance gets rechecked every 7 years and perhaps more frequently if you are not working in a top secret area and wish to return. Hanssen had no chance of doing any top secret work at the bureau until he obtained the clearance…or he was in an area where one was not required.

Hey Ben,
Do you know how long Hanssen had a top secret clearance? He certainly was employeed by the FBI for quite a while. A top secret one takes a long time to obtain and is rechecked very frequently. I know one guy who has been waiting for one for over 3 years and still hasn’t received it yet. I know I can’t state the level of my clearance, if I have one (just covering my ass).
Do you think Daniel Elsberg was a plant? Who benefitted? I remember Nixon saying he didn’t want to withdrawl from Vietnam as we were doing so.
The FBI (ie Bush government) planted this story? That’s a real stretch. If so, why are they throwing as many roadblocks up as possible to hushed it up? Is it part of a smoke screen? If so, then I would have to say that everything that comes out of the Bush white house is a smoke screen since it doesn’t make any logical sense. Perhaps the bushies told the world that we want to rid Iraq of the weapons of mass destruction as a cover so that we could, instead, install a democracy. Most of the so called Sibel Edwards “classified info” was in the public domain for 2 years. It was a politically motivated “reclassification”.
