Welcome, Arlen Specter.But Be Careful.

April 28, 2009

Mark was a guest on AIR AMERICA tonight.
Arlen Specter is likely to be a Liebercrat, but that’s still better than a Republican.
As with Lieberman, we’d rather have him mostly with us than mostly against us.
But caution:
He’s not an automatic 60th vote.
We’ll have to see how it plays out.
Depending on how he votes, he may have to be challenged in a Democratic Primary.
Now let’s see how he votes.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.

It concerns me that the Dem party may end up the Moderate republican party.
    Like Republican light anyone?
I think the direction move of the country for a generation may be toward center or center left. The dems seem to be heading for centerJust to the right.
Spector had the opportunity to change to the Democratic party. I would expect him to support the working people of this country that want to change from non union to union.
Is that too much for Spector?

There are a few other repubs that are not happy with the far right agenda. We may see more leave the repub party but probably as independents.
