Marion Barry and Political Sex Scandals

July 14, 2009

What should be done with Marion Barry?
When should voters be concerned about a politician’s extramarital affair?

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.

While I do think Marion Barry was entrapped (he refused the drug 7 times in one sentence), he’s still an embarrassment. He should retire.
I also find his brand of pandering religiosity contrived and stereotypical. No different than the way reoublicans pander to the religious right.

Look again. The big Marion Barry story is about DC Council earmarks. They reek and need to be abolished.

    Mark,
What do you make of all this “C” Street ssecret religous heaven?
Where Sen Ensign and other republican bible thumping sinner finger pointing with a hipocricy
    unbridled and unmatched?
Rachel Maddow has been giving this some good reporting.
Have you seen it and did they have their “C street sex retreat” when you were a staffer?

I didn’t think that Mr. Barry was still holding any political office, but IF he is, or recently, still was Mayor of the City of Washington, D.C., or IF we could ever achieve STATEHOOD(I’m a “white guy,” well a largely Irish/Scottish-Welsh-Catholic Guy from New Hampshire, I believe in Statehood for COLUMBIA!)for COLUMBIA, then I’d be so very PLEASED, just to see “U.S. SENATOR MARION BARRY,” being one of Columbia’s first great national representatives, just to “stick it to” the Rightists that nailed him and other “Pro-The PEOPLE,” ie “Democratic to progressively” ANTI-RACIST, GOOD American leaders!
